Apparently there is a character limit or something for email replies in connect yard. I wrote and sent the following message as a reply via email the other night to my group:
"I guess it would help if let you guys know my schedule at this point. I have class Wednesday and Thursday night this summer, but after next week the Wednesday class will be over. I have to leave by 2:30 tomorrow to make it to my class on time, so it won't work for me. Feel free to meet without me, if you need, just keep me updated through here on any ideas or thoughts."
ConnectYard decided that my post should only consist of:
"I guess it would help if let you guys know my schedule at this point."
That was my last message of the night and I was gone ALL day Wednesday and just figured out they didn't get it today (Thurs.) They already met last night, and although I couldn't have been there due to class, I feel like ConnectYard made me look like an idiot and my group was probably hoping/expecting for me to be there at 8pm last night. I just wrote and tried to explain, but I am seriously displeased with ConnectYard at this point!

Still waiting
My group still hasn't done anything except introductions. Only 3 people are even signed up at this point. I just posted a probing question in the hopes that it could create some movement or at least a conversation in the group. I'm not sure how we will get this going in two YEARS at this point, much less two weeks!

Cross Program Beginnings
I honestly had a hard time getting ConnectYard...well...connected. I first tried connected with it though Facebook, but that merely wasted 20 minutes of my time fighting with Facebook's new security measures that never seem to do what they look like they would. I then went back and saw the tab to sign up, and did so that way. During that process I left the site to check my email for a confirmation, but when I went back to their main site, it was rather vague on what a group meant. I was only about 80% sure that whatever I sent out was going only to my 2 group members that had already joined as opposed to whatever AppStateYard is. I left my message and signed off.
Later, when I tried to get back to the group's page that I had bookmarked, the website kept trying to redirect me to Facebook to "sign in". I had to exit out and go in through the front page of the site and then save my login information so it will hopefully let me go straight to the group web-page next time. I'm sure I can figure my way around this website, but it is frustrating and I fear that others with less computer experience will have an even harder time!
